Every month Heritage Makers makes it easy to publish projects and save points. Each month, on the first, there is a publishing sale announced. Usually, it is 10% off the publishing price of a specific product or, like this month, two different sizes.
This is a great opportunity to create a one of a kind Father’s Day gift that he is sure to love. There are many templates available and are very simple to use. No need for scrapbook or art lessons here. Simply drag and drop your pictures and type your text. Father’s Day is one of our busiest publishing holidays, so be sure to give yourself some extra time for it to arrive.

Life

Sometimes life, and time, speed by without us really noticing. Our priorites shift and certain activities take a back seat to our daily lives. Things do not always go as planned. Recently, reality sank in once again and I examined my life. My goals have be been reestablished and made. Slowly but surely I know life will turn around. Things that once gave me great pride have been rediscovered after a long hiatus.

Updated Calendar

This past week my husband reminded me of the calendar I have posted. So I thought about what I could put on there that would benefit all my Heritage Makers customers and those interested in what I do. You should check it out! I added monthly specials and the FREE classes that teach tips on using the Publishing Studio. I also added the deadlines for Mother’s and Father’s Day. I will keep the calendar updated to keep you well informed.

Project 365- so far

So far my 365 project is taking some getting used to. Usually I don’t have my camera when I want to take a picture or I’m home and feel my 365 pictures shouldn’t be filled with apartment pictures. I’m going to try to remember to carry my camera more. It’s a SLR and a little bulky when I carry it. I have taken some pictures and will add them to my flickr account soon. Here’s hoping March will be more memorable. Keep taking pictures and recording your memories!

Wallet-size Pictures

In September, I created a deck of cards to use as 2.5 x 3.5 wallet sized pictures.

I have several small picture frames I wanted to fill with pictures from my wedding. For the past few years, I have searched for this size but could never find anyone who did them, besides portrait studios. Now I find that several of the 1 hour photos, as well as some online companies, offer the wallet size prints. I checked out several different sites and compared prices. The prices are about the same across the board except for one I found for 25¢. The only downfall about the cheaper one is that you have to order 4 of the same picture. These other sites may offer cheaper prices but what about the quality? To me quality is always worth the extra money and in this case there wasn’t much of a price difference. With Heritage Makers, I personalized, cropped, and rotated my own wallet sized images, as well as added a message on the back. The cost per picture is about 42¢ plus tax and s/h. (a deck of cards retails for $24.95 for 54 cards)

The result, picture frames filled with high quality ‘cards’ the way I wanted them.

Project 365 for 2010!

Heritage Makers is challenging us to a new project. Project 365! Basically take a picture everyday! Capture all the little moments that we often overlook.
How do you begin such a project?
1). Start with a Blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc. Just share your pictures with everyone.
2). Taking at least one picture with your camera everyday (1 picture for 365 days).
3). Include captions or write a little story about it.
Then at the end of the year you have a whole compilation of pictures to use. All these pictures will make storybooking and preserving your memories even easier. After all, if you don’t preserve your memories, who will?

My Holiday & New Year

For the holidays my Husband and I spent almost two weeks with my sister in MA. We even took a trip to NH to see my family’s old house and got to spend time with other family and friends. Spending the holidays with those I love always reminds me of why I am a consultant for Heritage Makers. Capturing memories and documenting them with great products is something I am truly passionate about. This holiday, I felt fortunate that all of my Heritage Makers gifts and Christmas cards turned out well and arrived on time. Being able to give my family and friends high quality personalized gifts is a great feeling. This year I wanted to create a gift for my husband. Since we’ve been married I had yet to create a book of our honeymoon. I made most of it without his knowledge and he was amazed at how well I had put it all together. It gave me great satisfaction to create something so special for him.
My year ended well with a family New Year’s Eve party. Most of my family was together, except for my brother and his family, and we all stayed up to ring in the new year, even the kids. I’m hoping that night is a sign of the year to come and all the wonderful memories we will make.
